Once I had a window seat inside a café on a mild sunshiny San Francisco day and this good looking, disheveled dude outside walked by, looked at my food, tapped on the window, then had a conversation with me through the glass via hand gestures, no words… and I don’t remember exactly how it went down but the jist of it was…
are you going to finish that sandwich?
no… I’m finished
can I have it?
ok give me five…
And when I walked out, he walked in and got the sandwich off my plate. In that moment, were both part of the solution to the hunger/homeless/food-waste problem in San Francisco. I don’t know if our solution was scale-able (not to mention hygenic) but it was efficient, and elegant AF.

PS. I know, I know, I should have bought him a fresh sandwich, but I, being at the time young, caught off-guard and quite poor myself, didn't think of it.
